Khybiny hikes

These almost the oldest mountains on the earth are an ideal place to get acquainted with mountain hiking or trekking. Relatively small distances and elevations allow you to plan routes with two or three nights. But, do not forget that the weather in the mountains can be unpredictable and then they will appear in quite a different light!

HIKE DESCRIPTION

There are many options for routes in the Khibiny, from very short to almost circular. The optimal trip is 3-4 nights. We plan a trip according to your time and possibilities. The best period is July (the warmest and driest). Until mid-June there still can be some snow and the end of August may be already rainy. Even in July the weather can change several times a day.
Do not beleive the photos, the scale of them is deceptive. We will face long walks and ascents, river crossings and ford brook, so you need to be well prepared physically and mentally.

Before leaving, the group is registered at a local branch ofthe Ministry of Emergencies.

In the summer, small groups (up to 4 participants) can be delivered by an SUV to the very heart of Khibiny - the Kuniyok river valley to the Kuelporr rescue base.
From there, we can take a short walk to the Risyok Falls and admire the majestic picture of the mountains. And those who want to stretch their legs well after a long trip can make a radial outing to the North Chorgorr pass with a decent climb. Anyhow your guide will be happy to accompany you on any route.

A list of the necessary equipment for summer trips can be found in the Information section.
